Entry requirements

Entry Requirements

There are no mandated prerequisite qualification requirements for entry into the Certificate VI in Gas Supply Industry Operations.

The program outlined in this Training and Assessment Strategy is suitable for

  • Applicants who have previously completed UEG30114 Certificate III in Gas Supply Industry Operations and who have 4 years or more work experience in the gas supply or other resources and infrastructure industries such as civil construction, electricity, water and telecommunications and who are occupying or being developed to occupy supervisory job roles in the gas supply industry.
  • Applicants who present a current employment requirement to complete the Certificate IV, supported in writing by their employer,

This program is not suitable for new entrants to the gas supply industry who have no previous training or experience in resources and infrastructure industries. Applicants in this category should consider the Certificate II in Gas Supply Industry Operations or seek employment as an Apprentice in the Gas Supply Industry.

The minimum duration for this program is 18 months.

Students with credit transfer or recognition of prior learning for units may complete this qualification in less than 18 months.

Completion Requirements

The requirements for granting this qualification will be met when competency is demonstrated and achieved for:

  • All the Core competency standard units to achieve a total weighting of 290 points, defined in the Core Competency Standard Units table below and
  • A combination of Elective competency standard units to achieve a total weighting of 990 points in accordance with the Elective rules below, resulting in the achievement of overall weighting of 1,280 points
  • Imported units from other qualifications, training packages and/or state accredited courses can be added to group A, but they must be at AQF level 4
