The Certificate III in Gas Supply Industry Operations is designed for anyone wishing to become a Gas Industry Technician. This certificate is intended for workers undertaking and supervising work on Gas industry distribution pipelines, billing processes, cathodic protection processes and system operations processes. Also includes working and carrying out activities in industrial, commercial and rural environments on pipelines, control centers and associated facilities and equipment.
The Certificate III also runs Systems Operations for the Gas Supply Industry for high pressure gas supply.

There are no mandated prerequisite qualification requirements for entry into the Certificate III in Gas Supply Industry Operations. Kynekt Training Services recommends the following entry requirements:
- Applicants who previously completed Certificate II in Gas Supply Industry Operations and who have 3 or more months work experience in the gas supply or other resources and infrastructure industries such as civil construction, electricity, water and telecommunications; or
- Applicants with 6 or more months work experience in the gas supply or other resources and infrastructure industries such as civil construction, electricity, water and telecommunications.
All students enrolled into this program are required to be currently employed in the Gas Supply Industry.
Applicants who have less than 3 months employment experience in the Gas Supply Industry may be enrolled into this qualification provided a training program with a larger volume of training and extended time for completion of assessments can be arranged.
This program is not suitable for new entrants to the gas supply industry who have no previous training or experience in resources and infrastructure industries. Applicants in this category should consider the Certificate II in Gas Supply Industry Operations or seek employment as an Apprentice in the Gas Supply Industry.
The requirements for granting this qualification will be met when competency is demonstrated and achieved for:
All the Core competency standard units to achieve a total weighting of 300 points.
A combination of Elective competency standard units to achieve a total weighting of 660 points in accordance with the Elective rules to result in the achievement of overall weighting of 960 points.

Elective C Points Minimum 330, Maximum 660
Elective D Points Maximum of 130
Total Points Minimum of 960 required
The Certificate III in Gas Supply Industry Operations is a minimum of 12 months duration.
Students with Credit Transfer or Recognition of Prior Learning for units may complete this qualification in less than 12 months.
To Certificate IV in Gas Supply Industry Operations. Students who have successfully completed the Certificate III in Gas Supply Industry Operations will
receive credit for units should they choose to enrol in the Certificate IV in Gas Supply Industry Operations qualifications

Recognition of Prior Learning
Kynekt Training Services offers Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning for previous study or learning to all students. This will be discussed during your enrolment, and if applicable Kynekt Training Services staff will assist you to make an application.
Students wanting to apply for Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning for previous study or learning must bring certified copies of all relevant qualifications, transcripts and statements of attainment to their interview and provide a copy of a signed and up to date employment resume to the interviewer.
Upon successfully completing all components of the qualification, you will receive a Nationally Recognised Qualification in Gas Supply Industry Operations. If you partially complete your course in Gas Supply Industry Operations you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units or competencies you complete. In both cases, these awards can be used for Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer applications with other Registered Training Organisations and TAFE Institutes.If you choose to study a higher qualification at another Registered Training Organisation, Credit Transfer can be used toward the qualification.
